It has been for a while... There's a lot of animosity in this place, after a while it rubs off.

Are we talking about:

A. Too much work - I get around this by working late, so I can slack during the day.

B. The recent depression in the Forum. By depression I mean an overall depressive quality it has taken on.

Sorry that so many people had rotten days today. I think we need to find a theatre that has TPM so we can leave our work day blues behind. I hope it's out on video soon. Anybody got a bootleg I can borrow?

Hmm. Looks like work has really taken a bite out of this place.

I have a feeling Creepio's office is going to be pretty psyched up for EII when it finally rolls around, though.

Good morning slackers. Hey Sabe. I have not forgoten about you. I am trying to compress some wave files so that I can send you some tunes via email.

I hope all is well and we should be sending happy thoughts to C Creepio and all of our southern east coast friends during this hurricane scare. I think I would loose it if a hurrican or natural disaster destroyed my home, especially my Star Wars collection. Of course life is more important than toys. Hopefully the hurricane will miss us or at least do little damage.

Slack on.

I hope the hurricane comes right up the coast to Northern Va. Here at work the power goes out if anyone so much as sneezes wrong. A good strong storm should do the trick...

I know, kind of selfish, but hey - a day off work is a day off work...

So many NoVa's! We really shoulda all meet sometime!

I am kinda scared about the hurricane too! My husband's brother, his wife, and my new baby niece all live right outside Orlando. I really hope it doesn't get too bad there, and that everyone in the path of this storm comes out fine. Good luck Creepio!!!

And good morning everyone!!

Yikes!

We're bailing out! Work has been shut down, the low level parts of my county have mandetory evacuation! Just a few last minute things here before I head home. I won't be back until Thursday, if I come back at all (knock on wood).

Until then, I trust you slackers will be able to slack without supervision.
Nice.

Good luck Creepio and all along the SE coastline!

The Slack was so strong in me yesterday that I didn't even show up at work. Today, I showed up, but that's about it so far.

Permission to slack: two of our main computers are in our Boca Raton site. That site's evacuated right now, so the computers are inaccessible. No work to do.
Yippeee!

The only Floyd that ought to affect us is the Pink one. Hope all goes well south of here (Delaware)...

Hee-hee!

Yesterday the air conditioning was broken at work. we sat here and SUFFERED for the entire morning, and right after lunch my boss walks into my office and says. "Take stuff home. I am going home." we were thrilled. Like we actually took stuff home to work. HA!!! We just got out boss' permission to go home on the clock. I was a happy camper!

Good afternoon everyone.

Good luck Creepio!

Star Wars story:
I walked into a zellers store and was going to look at the star wars section to see what they had when I saw this little alley with what looked like discount stuff. I went to look and lo and behold I saw the display of the comtech reader. My heart skipped a beat and I thought "Wow! Now this would be a collectors item." I found a salesperson and asked what the price was for it. She went to check with her boss and came back and said it wasn't for sale. I begged I pleaded but they had to return it to the company who gave it to them. Short of stealing it (I actually did consider it for all of 5 sec.) I didn't see any way of getting it out of the store. So I left looking at it over my shoulder. I wonder what the managers price is? Everyone has a price...

Later, I'm off to the chat room.

Hey RedHot5 I think the manager probably has a price, myself. I work in retail and we never send displays back. We just pitch 'em when we are done with them. If we had to send them back, we would be up to our ears in displays that need to be picked up. It is also possible that it is promised to someone else already (check the backside of it for a name...like maybe the manager's?) On the other hand I have heard that some movie theaters have to send their displays back sometimes. That's a different business, though. In retail when it is no longer useful, you get rid of it to make room for something that is. (I have the header from the last two video releases of Star Wars; just took it off and took it home as soon as we sold through on the videos. And I have made sure that everyone understands that next March the display for TPM is MINE!) It is possible that the store has to send back the reader that is in the display, but if I remember right, the display itself is mostly cardboard.

Sorry if this was a bit incoherent. I just got home from work after going in early to put The Prince Of Egypt out on the sales floor. *yawn* Tired now...

Hey all, checkin' in late to the slack. Coulda' had a serious slackin' day as I didn't go to work, but then I didn't go 'cause I was sick. To sick to even slack around in the JC--whaaaa! But feeling a little better now, and already have tomorrow off as a vacation day, so maybe I can get in here during prime time for a change.

Good luck to Creepio and all you east coasters during these next few days. Be careful, we'd hate to lose ya!

I see you got sandstorm blasted again, Stellar. Still in one piece? Just blew thru here a bit ago, kinda lame by the time it hit Metro.
Slack on!!

Why slackers should actually walk fast:
Contrary to populor belief, walking fast is actually slackfull. What, you ask? Well, if you get to where you are going early you have more time to sit and do, well, nothing. If you walk slowly you will just take longer doing something (walking.) This concept works especially well when you know when the teacher will be arriving at class, so you can go there and maybe finish up that homework.
Sincerely,
Your Emperor

Hello my fellow slackers!

I have a good slacker story for all of you...

I was sitting in boring old school today,(Chemistry to be exact), and my teacher who is boring as hell decides to show us some 80 minute experiment on ultra violet rays or something... But the cool part was we had to wear these special glasses that kind of looked like sun glasses, and we had to turn the lights off. The "good" kids all got out their notebooks, eager to learn the chemical equations for ultra violet reactions. Me, on the other hand, saw this as the PERFECT opportunity to sleep in class! Sooooo... I layed back in my seat, slept for 80 minutes and copied someone's notes during lunch...

Ahhhh... the essence of slack!

It went really well. I still have to record three more songs, but I got a lot accomplished, for a slacker anyway ...
I'll email you the details later...

Yes, Sabe, our dear friend Creep is stuck in that god-awful hurricane... But fortunately, the hurricane is moving north and will not hit Florida directly. As for our friends in Myrtle Beach... My prayers are w/ you...

RedHot...
I will email you tonight! I promise !
