I love the award list. I get so excited about seeing who's not done some type of w--k, or someone who's shown some rather cool slacking ability.

Hey Gundark. Im not sure what it is either. As a matter of fact I don't even know where i picked up the word.

Jedi Soul I can't wait to get your story. And that advertisement you made some odd pages ago. That was just tooo cool for words. How many more days till the story comes out?

We'll go early:

This week's Official Slacker Awards go like this:

Best New Slacking Techniques: Haciedna51's SW scenes with smiley's. Intrigue007's "Why do work on Tuesday's" post (page 3). Vrian Sinth's Tips on slacking (page 4).

Most Enthuisiastic Slackers: Hacienda51 for the group story (I loved it!) & Obi Two & Darth Tater for bein' here.

Best Post: Who can deny the anticipation of Jedi Soul's first Episode II commercial??

Slacker of the Week: gundark- for all his many slack-related posts and the post "do not or really do not...there is no do."
The man has been a beautiful apprentice. The wisdom.....

May the Slack Be With You

Of course I dreamt of you Jedi Soul. while listening to the sounds of Shine a Light by Spiritualized...(sigh)

Anyway, good morning everybody, my slacking at work has carried over to slacking at home. I feel the Slack getting stronger with each passing moment!

gundark-- where were you? I was on the upper deck in the little area in front of the bar, dead center, dancin' like a fool.

This was my third SC show, 2nd at 9:30. First time I saw them was at VA Tech, and some 12-year-old kid kept trying to stage-dive, and the bass player personally threatened to kick his a$$. It was awesome.

They are just too cool.

So did ya go backstage and meet everybody? Or has that not happened yet? Gimme details!!!

(By the way, welcome Padawan Slacker RedHot5 and thank you for my Slacker Awards. Slack approval is the only award I need. )

Well guys, sorry I wasn't around yesterday. I had a tornado here in Salt Lake City pass my office by about 2 block. Awesome site though. That doesn't happen too much here. The power went out and I went home. The tornado helped me slack!!!

The only problem is that it took me 4 hours to get home cause down town Salt Lake City was closed. What a pain in the butt!!!

Well, I'm back and no tornado is keeping me from slacking with you guys today!!

Funny story!!

This little short guy was in the lobby. Well, he had a little pony tail just like Obi-Wan's in TPM but only, I wasn't thinking about that because I was too busy researching the slackers awards. This girl across the lobby (who's SW loyal) kept looking at the guy and smiling at me. I wondered why she kept smiling but pretty much kept my eyes on the computer. I didn't know why she was smiling. But when the guy left, the girl was still smiling at me. I gave her a look, "Why are you smiling?"

She pointed at the guy as he left and whispered, "Padawan."

Thus, a huge grin broke across my face. Indeed.......

i met them all briefly at the first 9:30 show, we talked to Mark and Sebastian the most, M and Yuval were swamped with women and therefore a little less accesible. Last night
i was with a group of people right near the front of the stage towards the left. Right next to where those idiots started moshing near the end. It never fails some ******* always starts that poodoo... But evertime i've seen them they have handled it instantly
even coming to a dead stop in super bon bon once. ( that might even have been at 9:30 )

Hey guys...

Work has just piled on, so I don't know how active I can be today.

I think General MacArthur said it best, gundark: "Old slackers never die, they just fade away...."

BTW -- If people are bored and looking for things to read, check out my "TPM - Revisited" thread - which was bumped to the Fan Fiction page yesterday. It was inspired by Hacienda's "Amidala Slacks" story....

Anyway, I'll drop in later, catch you all around.....

gundark-- they played SFJ at the Tech show. That's the boyfriend's fave song too. I have many favorites, and I think they played all of them but one...

They played Moon Sammy, Bus to Beelzebub, Super Bon Bon and Blame.

They did not play Screenwriter's Blues.

But they played SB AND Janine last time, which was awesome.

Jedi Soul-- (gundark, please correct me if my description isn't accurate) Soul Coughing is a NYC-based quartet making some of the most original yet listenable music out there. They're heavily influenced by jazz and there's a big Beatnik streak going through the music. The lyrics and delivery are very deadpan and rather Dada-esque. It's very hard to describe them in a way that does them justice. If you like REAL alternative music, you'll appreciate Soul Coughing. I suggest their first album called "Ruby Vroom" as an introductory.

Actually, I remember reading somewhere where some critic described them as "slacker jazz." Yeah!

Yes, Jedi Soul, thank you for the award.

Halfway through the day and not a thing to do....

Except start a thread on the historical significance of the game balf and it's relationship to the plight of the slaves on Tatooine.

Hey everyone. I just infiltrated the City of Atlanta Court System with SW Slacking. I had to go to court today for my firm and I hate wearing ties so I wore my Star Wars tie. Everyone noticed. This tie is very tacky. Big pictures from ANH all over it. Very obnoxious. All the Atlanta City Cops were like "Cool tie". It ruled.

Yes! Sandfarmer rules!!!

How much do we all love Jedi Soul's hype for the EpII screenplay. It's like a miniature real life Episode 2 party- from the comfort of our own slacker's forum.

P.S. Anyone think it's time to start a new thread?

It might be a good idea Creepio. This one is getting sort of unwieldy(sp?). Plus it's Thursday, so something bad is bound to happen to the server, let's beat it to the punch. Slack on...
