Fly right thru a meeting or bounce to close to a manager and that will end your Slack real quick

Golden. The whole thing. LP- you are finally learning the slacking techniques that I have already enjoyed. Perhaps we've all learned something here today.

Like this:

YODA
Confer on you, the level of Vice President, the company does. But agree with you taking the new employee as your Slackawan learner, I do not.

OBI-WAN
Qui-Gon believed in him.

YODA
Chosen to Slack, the boy may be. Nevertheless, grave danger do I fear in his employment.

OBI-WAN
Mister Yoda, I gave Qui-Gon my word. I will train Anakin, without approval from the board of directors if I must.

YODA
Qui-Gon slackiance I sense in you. Need that, you do. Agree with you the board of directors does. Your Slackawan apprentice, Anakin will be.

OBI-WAN
I don't have to actually do any work though, right?

YODA
Of course you don't. Now, go back to sleep I must.

See how easy it is?

As an African American female, I take offence to all the ebonical innuendos.

My people have struggled long and hard to talk like Yoda. Don't mock us.

C C: "Remember, a Slacker can feel the Slack, flowing through him!"

LtP: "You mean, it controls your inaction?

C C: "Partially...but it also disobeys your manager's commands."

<Picks up headphones; plugs them into CD-rom drive>

"This time -- let go of your proactive self -- and slack on impulse!"

LtP: "But...with the volume up, how am I supposed to ignore the phone?"

C C: "Voice mails they will leave you; trust them!"

LtP: "Well okay, here goes..."

<Puts on headphones; puts music CD in. Name flashes on phone display as line lights up. LtP tenses up. Line light stops; name goes away and "message" light comes on phone panel. LtP relaxes.>

LtP: <Removes headphones> "You know . . . I could almost feel nothing. I did almost not hear the phone!"

C C:"Congratulations. You've taken your first step into a slacker world."

fades into new thread and looks around at her fellow slackers and see so many new faces. She smiles to herself and finds a nice cushy beany and flops right into it.

A C Creepio a new thread. You have outdone yourself. I've missed your threads. And I see you've plenty more out there for me to play in. Thank you. Very considerate of you to create so many playgrounds.

Hacienda That song was wonderful. I couldn't stop laughing when I read it. dapper bloke that should go on your website and shrined there. Or should I be recommending this to Obi Two

Jedi Soul call me Im at home home now. I tried calling you the other day and the number did not work.

Hey Gundark and Darth Tater I hope the two of you are keeping out of trouble.

Well my classes official start next week so Im going to go home and slack till then. You'll probably see me more often again once they give me homework. Well later all.

I miss you all so much.

"A Moog synthesizer is nothing if not complicated. There are still not many of them in the world, and still fewer people who know how to put one together, and even fewer who understand what to do with the thing: its capabilities, its potential, its limits.
Therefore, when the rush order came through to modify the synthesizer they had constructed for Stevie Wonder two years before, the bearded, mustached and bespectacled young men who understand these arcane matters proceeded with bemused diligence.
Bemused becuase, evidently, Mr. Wonder was lending or giving his Moog to a group not previously known for its musical interests. But what the hell? What could these guys do with a Moog synthesizer that they couldn't already do with a nuclear-tipped long-range intercontinental ballistic missile?"

Just an interesting quote that seems really strange out of the context of the novel I found it in. If anyone knows what that is from, they win a cookie.

Slack on.

And where is Jedi Soul? I've haven't seen her since she made that "sweetie" thread on Saturday.

Guess I have been away for awhile. Haven't even been on line very much in the past week or so.
I am very much afraid that the Dark Side got the better of me for awhile there. And right after my vacation, too. Obviously they made their foul plans while I was gone and then pounced the second I was back through the door.
But I am back now, and hopefully I will remain. I will do my part with the night shift!

Heading out to the coffee shop for the evening. I will most likely be back at a truly rediculous hour of the morning.

Late hell, I'm usually in here sooner, and you always beat me to the slackclock! Got distracted watching a bio on Fred Gwynne...is that a pardonable excuse?

80's?

Did I miss something? Someone talking about the 80's and I didn't see it? Where...where?!?

I was just watching a Barbara Walters special and Liam was on it! Is this a repeat? They didn't say much about Star Wars. It was more about his family. Considering I hardly watch TV I think it was cool that I caught it.

Ah, probably different network, huh.

Actually the 80's I was referring to is the temperature. Supposed to be in the 90's again soon....whaaaaa!

I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike.
I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride it where I go!

However, there is a cool 80's thread in here, RedHot. I'm surprised you haven't visited yet! Get on it!!

*Yawn* Very early morning shift checking in.

Thanks for the welcome back! I have missed you guys!

Yep, Twi'lek Babe, those eighties are great. Feels good to be able to sleep with the windows open and the AC off. The cats love it too.

I have inventory this morning (it's currently 2:10am and I have to be in at 3), so I thought I would do my best to make this easier to find for the day shift slack. Wouldn't want you guys to have to work to hard at your slacking!
